From The Ladies

On behalf of the Ladies Committee and Members alike, I would like to welcome all visitors to our “Friendly Golf Club”. The weekly ladies ‘comps’ are held on a Wednesday and we extend a very warm welcome to all ladies visiting the area to come and join us.

Simply phone the Pro Shop and the boys will help you with bookings. We have fields of 80 to100 ladies on most Wednesdays and on Saturdays we have 20 to 30 timeslots where we run a separate ladies competition during the Men’s main day.
Introducing new ladies to this wonderful sport is another of our Committee’s aims, thus at the beginning of February each year our Club Professional starts the ladies off with a 5 week intensive clinic showing all the basics of golf at a very reasonable cost. After which our Monday Beginners Committee take over and support these ladies throughout the year running their own competition until they feel confident to attain their handicap. Experienced volunteers walk with the ladies during their round and guide them through the ‘Etiquette of golf’.  If you have ever had an ‘inkling’ to give golf a go, this is a wonderful environment to learn.
