There were 159 starters for the 1st round of 4BBB Championships with visitors from Helensvale and Coffs Harbour.

Winners were Greg White and Chris Hyland with 50 points, 1st runner up were Mark Pennant and Brian Wilson with 49c/b. 2nd runner up were Des Mc Dermid and Mick Bryant with 49, 3rd runner up were Walter Schlechtriem and Dennis Ryan with 47c/b leaving Cyril Payne and Barrie Shepherd 4th runner up with 47.

Gross winners were Trevor Ridge and Craig Blyth with 38 points.
